Voice production model based on phonation biophysics

چکیده

Abstract This paper presents a proposal to source-filter theory of voice production, more precisely related voiced sounds. It is model generate signal using linear and time-invariant systems takes into account the phonation biophysics cyclostationary characteristics signal, vibrational behavior vocal cords. The suggests that oscillation frequency cords function its mass length, but controlled by longitudinal tension applied them. mathematical description glottal excitation presented, along with closed expression for power spectral density excites glottis. whose parameters can be adjusted detection classification glottis pathologies, also present. As result, output each block diagram represents proposed analysed, including comparison between emulated voice, original classic model. Log Spectral Distortion computed, providing values below 1.40 dB, indicating an acceptable distortion all cases.

mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model

over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...

Phonation and voice quality

One of the most intriguing aspects of phonetic science is the number of distinguishable layers within the speech signal. Within even a single segment, such as a vowel, speakers control vowel quality, duration, F0, speech style, and so forth. Listeners, in turn, have learned to pay attention to these different acoustic layers in order to extract meaningful information from the speech signal. Pho...

Cause-effect relationship between vocal fold physiology and voice production in a three-dimensional phonation model.

The goal of this study is to better understand the cause-effect relation between vocal fold physiology and the resulting vibration pattern and voice acoustics. Using a three-dimensional continuum model of phonation, the effects of changes in vocal fold stiffness, medial surface thickness in the vertical direction, resting glottal opening, and subglottal pressure on vocal fold vibration and diff...

Analysis of voice production in breathy, normal and pressed phonation by comparing inverse filtering and videokymography

The present study addresses comparison of two analysis methods of voice production, inverse filtering and videokymography (VKG). Speech data were collected from two male speakers using sustained phonation during laryngoscopy (sound corresponding approximately to the vowel /ä/). The type of phonation was varied between breathy, normal, and pressed. From the waveforms given by inverse filtering, ...

Phonation stabilisation time as an indicator of voice disorder

There is increasing emphasis on use of connected speech for acoustic analysis of voice disorder, but the differential impact of disorder on initiation, maintenance and termination of phonation has received little attention. This study introduces a new measure of dynamic changes at onset of phonation during connected speech, phonation stabilisation time (PST), and compares this measure with conv...
